Entertainment in spanish speaking countries

My blog is on what are some fun things you can do when you visit mexico.  Some fun things to do are:  visit the Alhambra in Granada.  See Frank Gehry's amazing arcutecture.  You could go skiing in the Navanda Mountains.  Take part in a local village fiesta.  Or you could stomp your feet on the Flamenco.  These are only a few things to do there are many more.  I think the coolest one would be skiing in the Navanda Mountains because i never thought that they got snow there but apprentaly they do in some places.  I also think that looking at some of Frank Gehry's arcutect would be cool.  i would like to go to mexico someday and look at all of this stuff.

I have learned that mexico has a lot of things for tourists to do when they go there.  They could go the beach look at arcutecture, take part in a village fiesta, or even hang out at the beach but whatever they would do they would probably have a good time.

Mexican food

Some tradional mexican food dishes are:  Tamales with steamed masa with filling,  pollo encantado, and chile en nogada.  Mexican food has been around for a long time, but these are some of the dishes that have become very popular over the years, and people have gooton to like.  Mexico has given chocolate to the world, as well as many other specialties,  such as:  peanuts, vanilla, beans, coconuts, and tomatoes.  The mexican cusuine finally met the cusine from the north and Tex-Mex food was created.  Tex-Mex is a blend of flavors and recipes from the Mexican, Texas and American cultures.  Every tourist will find Mexican cuisine to be an interesting choice. It is commonly said that visiting Mexico and not tasting mexican food is like not visting mexico at all.

I have learned a lot about the mexican foods, and cultures.  I didnt know that there was such a tradition behind all of the mexican food.  I have heard of Tex-Mex but i didnt really know what it was but now i know it is a combination of Mexican, Texas, and American cultures all mixed together.  I would like to go there someday and try some of there food it looks good.

Texas

My blog is on Texas.  Texas is know as the lone star state.  Texas's capital is Austin.  In texas there are many diffrent races of people.  There are alot of Mexicans that go to Texas because there are more jobs in the United States so the mexicans jump the border and go to texas to start a new life.  In Texas a lot of mexicans work on ranches.  But some of them go to college and get good jobs and send money to their relatives in mexico.  Some facts about texas are:  2/3 of texas speaks english and the other 1/3 speaks spanish.  There are 254 counties in texas.  The population of texas is 20,044,141.  The land area of texas is 262,015 square miles so it is big.

I learned that texas is a really big state with a lot of people.  I also learned that there are many diffrent races in texas.  and the two main languages in texas are spanish and english.  and mexicans jump the border so that they can start a better life or send money home to there relatives in mexico.  I would like to go to texas someday i think it would be cool.

Mexico Agriculture

In 1999 agriculture in Mexico employed 23% of Mexicos labor force but only accounted for only 5% of Mexicos GDP.  Crop production continues to be the most important agricultural acticvity in Mexico.  The crops that they grow the most of are wheat, beans, corn, and sorghum.  The most important crop for consumtion purposes are sugar, coffie, fruits, and vegtables.  Mexico continues to be one of the top producers in the world.  Mexicos exports to the united states for fruits and vegtables in 1998 generated revenues for 2.87 billion dollars.  In comparison to its crop production, livestock amounts for 30% of Mexicos agricltural output.  The reason that they have so much revenue off of crops is because there is so much land to plant and harvest.


I never knew that mexicos agriculture was so big.  These stats were from in 1999 so im sure that numbers have gone up alot more.  i also never knew that they grew kind of the same stuff that the united states grow.  I thought that mexico was mostly plants i didnt know that they have alot of livestock either.I think it would be cool to go visit a farm in mexico to see if it is like any of our farms around here.

Mexico City

Mexico City is the Federal District, capital of mexico, and seat of the federal powers of the mexican union. Mexico city is one of the most important financial centers in North America. Mexico City is located in the Valley of Mexico, a large valley of high plateaus. Mexico city is at an altitude of 7350 feet. In 2009 there was an estimated 8.84 million people, and has land area of 573 square miles. The city was orinally built on an island of Lake Texcoco by the aztecs in 1325. There are many diffrent things to do in mexico like staying at resorts, going to the beaches, and exploring the country.  Mexico city has over 160 muesums and 30 concert halls, and hundreds of art galleries.

Mexico city sounds like a pretty cool place to visit i never knew that mexico city was that big.  It would be cool to go the beaches and all the stuff they have to do there.  Im not a big muesum person but maybe that would be cool to go visit.  It would be nice to go there when it is negatice thirty degrees in minnesota.  And it will be in the eighties there.

Mexican Sports

In mexico sports are a really big thing.  Soccer is the main sport in mexico, but boxing, basketball, baseball, golf wrestling, bullfighting and Charrería are are really big.  Soccer has been played professionally in mexico since the early 1900's. Mexico has hosted two FIFA world cups one in 1970 and one in 1986.  Many of the stadiums in use around the league have a world cup history.  Sites such as Estadio Jalisco in Guadalarjara, Estadio Techologia in Monterry and Estadio Azteca in mexico city are reowned and for national and international history.  Boxing is the second biggest sport in mexico.  Mexico is second only to the United States in total number of world champions produced but has recently produced more World Champions in the last 30 years

I learned that sports in mexico are a really big thing just like sports in the united states.  I knew that soccer was one of the big sports in mexico i had no idea though that boxing was second.  I also learned that sports in mexico kind of have the same rules that sports in the United States have.  It would be cool to go to mexico to see how they play some of there sports just to see how diffrent it is.

Mexican Cars and Laws

In 1903, is when cars first arrived in Mexico.  There were 136 cars in mexico within the first year.  And By 1906 there were over 800 cars.  There top speed was 25 mph. There was a tax on car owners until 1911.  The first car in mexico was a buick.  In 1925, Ford Motor Company was also established, and as of 2011 remains the longest-running brand in the country.  There are also special restrictions on when you can drive your car in mexico.  Like if your plates end in a 5 or 6 then you can't drive on Mondays and the first Saturday of the month.  Plates ending in a 7 or 8 you cant drive on Tuesdays and the second saturday of the month.  Plates ending in 3 or 4 cant drive on wensdays and the third saturday of the month.  Plates ending in 1 or 2 cannot be driven on thursaday or the fourth saturday of the month.  If they end in a 9 or 0 you cannot drive on Friday but you CAN drive on saturday.

I learned that mexican car companys got started really early.  And there were only a few cars in mexico when they first came out.  Even after a couple of years there still wernt many cars but now mexico has the same amount of cars as the united states if not more than us.  I also learned that mexico is really strict when you can drive.  That is much diffrent than here because we can drive whenever we want and we dont have a schedle when we can drive.

mexicos pollution

In recent years, Mexico has faced extremly high levels of pollution.  The pollution levels are so high it is causing a lot of  heath problems.  Mexico city, Guadalajara, and Cidudad Juarez are the most polluted, but Mexico City is the worst one of the worsts among the world.  Mexico city's air is rated at 179 mg per cubic meter of suspended particulates.  The average is around 90.  Exaust fumes from Mexico city 3 million cars is the main source of pollutants. In Mexico City, poisines air and choking smoke from forest fires is costing Mexico millions dollars a day in lost industirial production and extra health costs.  In 1998 Mexico City declared a fourth consecutive day of smog emergincies.  There is an estimated 500,000 mexico city residents have some sort of health problem.  Of those up to 5,000 have a cronic deadly diesese.

I have learned alot about pollution in mexico like that mexico has deadly high levels of pollutin.  Its causing many health problems.  There are three major citys that have really high levels of pollutin.  those citys are almost double of what the average is.  If more people walked instead of driving cars that would also reduce the amount of pollution in the air.  Forest fires are also a big deal for mexico along with the big indistries.  Thats what i learned about mexicos polluitin.

mexican technology-

Some things i learned aboult mexican technology is that they have alot of technology that is like ours.  There cell phone companys cost more than ours do.  There phone number is much diffrent than ours.  They have five diffrent internet types.  Mexicos emergenciy number is 060.  And the big cell phone company in mexico is Telcel.  If you go to mexico and use your regular cell phone the roaming is going to cost a lot.


Mexicos technology  is a lot like ours.  They have everything we do.  They have cell phone its just there phone companys cost more than ours do.  If you were to call somebody in mexico you would have to dial 044-55-XXXX-XXXX.  In Mexico there are five diffrent kinds of internet avalable: dial-up, DSL, ADSL, wi-fi and pre-paid.  There are four diffrent internet providers they are: Avantel, Prodigy, AE-Go, and cableacess.  For emergencies in Mexico the number you would want to dial is 060.  Fedral Highway Police number is (52)5677-2227.  Those are just a few of the main numbers in Mexico that you might need.   The big cell phone company in Mexico is called Telcel which is owned by Carlos Slim.
